Cash Special Utility District and NTMWD will be changing the process for disinfecting water during the period beginning January 6, 2011, and ending February 13, 2011.  Chloramines are currently used in the treatment of raw water. For this short period of time free chlorine will be utilized.  A slight change in taste and odor may be noticeable but the water will be 100% safe to drink. This process is usually done semi-annually to keep the water quality at its maximum.
